Town of Decatur
"Decatur in the year 2023 is a town with a balanced mix of residential and rural tracts of land. Its residents strive to protect its natural beauty, undeveloped land, and large stands of pristine woods. We encourage large contiguous blocks of land that preserve the rural atmosphere and character of the family farm and the pastoral views they provide. We maintain our air and water quality by limiting the number of animal units and controlling wastewater disposal and other undesirable industrial emissions. Development is concentrated in designated areas with infrastructure and design to serve this growth. The development of parks and recreational areas are encouraged along with protecting and preserving our Sugar River, Decatur Lake, and Mill Race. We surround the City of Brodhead, which makes its growth and development ours as well."
